A Resource for Police Officers, Correctional Officers, Detention Staff, Deputies, and Public Safety Professionals
Policing In Faith: A Discussion About the Police, For the Police, and the People They Serve
Strength for the Badge. Hope for the Journey. Faith for the Calling.
Policing in Faith: A Discussion About the Police for the Police and the People They Serve is a courageous and thought-provoking examination of the unique role law enforcement officers, correctional officers, detention staff, and other public safety professionals occupy within a society governed by both law and moral expectation. It invites those who wear the badge, as well as the communities they serve, into an honest conversation about justice, authority, accountability, and the often-overlooked spiritual aspect of public service.
At its core, this book challenges readers to consider what it truly means for officers to serve as enforcers of codified morality. Every statute, ordinance, regulation, and criminal code reflects a societal judgment about acceptable and unacceptable behavior. Yet beyond those written laws exists another standard, one rooted in Scripture, moral conscience, and the public's expectation that officers will exercise wisdom, fairness, restraint, and integrity in every encounter.

Beyond Law: The Human and Spiritual Cost of Policing
Rather than offering simplistic answers, Policing in Faith explores the tensions law enforcement professionals navigate every day. It examines the intersection of legal authority and personal conviction, public expectation and professional obligation, justice and mercy, enforcement and compassion. Through a biblical lens, readers are encouraged to wrestle with difficult questions regarding leadership, ethics, discretion, accountability, and the responsibility entrusted to those who serve on the front lines of public safety while understanding the spiritual costs to do so.
About the Author
Policing in Faith was born out of prayer, grief, and a search for biblical answers during one of the nation's most painful conversations about policing and public accountability.

After witnessing respected faith leaders such as Dr. Cornel West and Dr. Jamal Bryant arrested while advocating for accountability in the aftermath of Michael Brown's death in Ferguson, Missouri, Staci Sweet found herself deeply troubled by the growing divide between law enforcement and the communities they serve. As a student of Scripture, she turned to God's Word seeking guidance, asking a simple but profound question: What does the Bible say about policing, authority, accountability, justice, and the treatment of people by those entrusted with power?

What began as a personal prayer assignment became a five-year-long biblical investigation that challenged many of her own assumptions. Rather than producing a one-sided critique of law enforcement or a defense of the status quo, Staci discovered a broader biblical framework that speaks to officers, citizens, faith leaders, activists, and policymakers alike.

Though Staci holds neither a criminal justice degree nor a law enforcement background, she brings the perspective of someone willing to ask God the difficult questions and follow Scripture wherever it leads in order to write a God-breathed work that encourages believers to move beyond outrage toward prayer, wisdom, action, and solutions.
