A friend asked me to pray that they’d have clarity. This particular person is having an unusual amount of clients being referred and is having to figure out what she should do with them all. As I prayed for God to give her ideas, insights and concepts into what she should do, I was then led to pray that she’d get clarity about what not to put her hands to. I know that may sound strange, but Deuteronomy 15:10 says that the ‘…Lord your God will bless you in all your works and in all to which you put your hand.’

There are certain opportunities coming your way in 2015 that the Lord doesn’t want you to be a part of; neither does He want you to put your hands to. This includes your expertise, experience, finances and time. They may very well be jaw-dropping, bank account increasing, unprecedented exposure type opportunities; but nonetheless, if you’re a submitted child of God – you won’t be able to partake in them. But why?
Because those may be the very things that take you away from what you’re supposed to be doing. Those ‘incredible’ opportunities will soon be the very things that cause you to get distracted. So much so, that those ‘unbelievable’ opportunities will later become burdensome and time consuming. Because most assuredly, you’ll come to the point where you’re overloaded; where it’ll just seem like there isn’t enough time in the day for you to get everything done; not the important, God assigned things anyway. And you know why – you added something to you that God didn’t.
Proverbs 10:22 says, ‘The blessing of the Lord makes one rich, and He adds no sorrow with it.’ Though those ‘amazing’ projects seem like a blessing from the Lord; they’re not. They look like they’ll make you rich, but in the end – they won’t. If you take those ‘awesome’ opportunities, it’s assured you’ll become sorrowful. Sorry that you took them and sorry that you’ll soon have to repent because you did.
‘For godly sorrow produces repentance leading to salvation, not to be regretted; but the sorrow of the world produces death.’ – 2 Corinthians 7:10
I know you’re praying and believing for favor and opportunities to increase in 2015. That’s great and keep believing! Just make sure that you add two words to your prayer – God given and getting back to my friends prayer for clarity ,which is my prayer for you; if you know what not to do, it'll become clearer as to what to do.
Pray this with me: Heavenly Father, I ask for You to add those people, things, and opportunities to me that You have assigned for my life. I ask that everything in my life be God-given by You. And if at any moment, I desire to add something or someone that doesn’t; please send a Word, a person, and Your Spirit to warn me and redirect my steps and my heart into what You would have me to do. In Jesus’ name.
