Unusual Ideas

Luke 5:17-19 says, ‘…on a certain day [Jesus] was teaching…and…the power of the Lord was present to heal them. Then behold, men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed, whom they sought to bring in and lay before Him. And when they could not find how they might bring him in, because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down with his bed through the tiling into the midst before Jesus.’

Notice verse 19 says, when they couldn’t find a way to bring the paralyzed man in, the men went up on the housetop. How do you go from being on the ground carrying a man on a bed; to hoisting him up on the side of a house and through a roof? A God Idea! When these four friends were faced with a seemingly impossible situation and were trying to think of a solution for someone else, they received a God Idea - an unusual idea, perspective and approach to get something done.

As a child of God, you were created to live an impossible life and to help others do the same. And because you were, it’s time for you to seek God for unusual ways and ideas that you can take others up with you. When you put yourself in a position to help someone that’s hurting, God will give you unusual ideas to help those that need it. I’ll use me as an example. I’ve been abstinent for 12 years. During that time, a desire was birthed to help single women do the same. As a result, God has given me unusual ideas and concepts about sex, men, and marriage and because of that, I’ll soon be releasing my first book, ‘The Reality of Sexual Purity™’ in which I share those insights. Could I have just sat and waited for my Boaz with all these new ways to see men, sex, and marriage? Absolutely! But because I wanted to help single women keep their legs closed, God has infused and downloaded an understanding of the aforementioned that will challenge, heal, and change women around the world – with an uncommon approach and unusually fresh perspective about sexual purity.

What about you? There’s something that once had you paralyzed that you can now help take someone up and away from. So why not for the month of December, pray about how you can help someone make it through what you’ve just come out of? Why not seek God for ideas about how your brand, your business, your brilliance, your message and your mess can benefit others? As you do, watch God give you profitable ideas and money making strategies of how you can take others up with you.

Pray this with me: Heavenly Father, there’s something that I’ve been through that You can use to help somebody. I ask that You’d reveal that to me so that I can use the wisdom and Your Word to help them through it. I ask You for ideas, insights, and concepts of how I can do it profitably, in love, and by Your grace. In Jesus’ name.
