May I ask you a question? How often do you check your horoscope? Do you read it daily, weekly or every now and then? If you answered any of the above, then as a Christian, you’re out of pocket and here’s why.
Do you believe in horoscopes? Do you base your compatibility on signs?
Astrology is ‘the study of movements and the relative positions of celestial bodies interpreted as having an influence on human affairs and the natural world.’2 An astrologer is ‘a person who uses astrology to tell others about their character or to predict their future.’1 The way that it works is that an astrologer yields him or herself to what’s known as wrong spirits, also referred to in the Bible as familiar, lying, foul, unclean, and/or divining spirits; and those spirits provide demonic wisdom and/or guidance. That astrologer then writes the information and/or plan, per se, for the day, in the form of a horoscope, and thus the person reading the horoscope receives the guidance given by the astrologer which usually results in the plans and/or information given, the spiritual influences behind said info, to guide them throughout the day. And you know what? More times than not, that horoscope comes to pass which is why most BELIEVE in their ability. But...
“Why are horoscopes so accurate?
Great question. It's because its demonic guidance (i.e., wisdom, intelligence), and I apologize if I offended you by using the word demonic. And please know upfront, I am not calling you a demon neither am I saying that you are possessed by one. But because you are a REAL ISSUES READER, then you know we keep it REAL, and I have to say that the information provided via horoscopes are in fact inspired by demons. Again, not you but the person who obtained the information. If that is you, then yes, sir or ma'am, I am emphatically saying that you are being influenced by an evil spirit. But again, my goal is not to offend, only to educate and prayerfully help you get out from under the control of that spirit. But I digress.
Our original question was why are horoscopes so accurate? James 3:13 describes it best when it says, ‘This wisdom does not descend from above, but is earthly, sensual, demonic.’ Thus, establishing that there is demonic wisdom. Therefore, that astrologer yielded themself to a demon who gave him or her the enemy’s plan for your life. God has a perfect plan for you…but so does the enemy. When you use your FAITH to go in search of daily guidance, the enemy will meet you at the point of your faith. Why? Because instead of seeking God, you sought him – in the form of a horoscope - for it. In that, you put your faith in a horoscope which would be the same as putting your faith in the Word of God. As a Christian, you’re supposed to believe in and put your faith in God and in His Word. But instead, you put your faith in an astrologer and a horoscope. The way God wants you to get daily wisdom is to seek Him through His Word and allow His Holy Spirit to guide you. John 16:13 says, ‘…when He, the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.’ The Holy Spirit (i.e., the Spirit of truth) hears from God and then tells you things to come which could potentially include what’s going to happen for the day. While on the opposite end, an astrologer hears from the enemy and the astrologer tells you what’s he's planned for your day. Unbeknownst to you, that astrologer has essentially become your spirit of untruth. Same method. Different source.
Again, that astrologer, or the words given by that astrologer, guides you throughout the day. If the horoscope reads that you’ll meet someone who’ll change your life, you then spend all day in search of that someone. Those words guided your decisions and led you to meet Mr. Right Here or Ms. Right Now who weren’t right for you at all. Those words led you AWAY from the truth of what and who God had prepared for you and into the reality of who and what the enemy had planned. But in case you didn’t know it, there is a difference between the truth and reality. In my many years of study and spiritual failures I’ve learned that just because something is REAL doesn’t necessarily mean that it’s God. Just because something happens doesn’t mean that it was God’s will. But because what the horoscope said came to pass, you assume it’s God when the truth of the matter is that it wasn’t. It was a wrong spirit that ‘influenced your human affairs’ and caused what happened in your ‘natural world’2 to come to pass in accordance with the enemy’s plan for your life. But if you’d get away from the words of a horoscope and into the Word of God, your life would be so much better.
Pray this with me: Heavenly Father, please forgive me for reading horoscopes more regularly than I read Your Word. Please forgive me for leaning on the guidance of a horoscope than on the guidance of Your precious Holy Spirit. I ask that You’d teach me how to seek You for the guidance I need daily. In Jesus’ name.
