Follow God's Reaping Instructions

‘For the black cummin is not threshed with a threshing sledge, nor is a cartwheel

rolled over the cummin; but the black cummin is beaten out with a stick,

and the cummin with a rod.’ Isaiah 28:27

Do you think God will let you take your threshing sledge in the field to reap black cummin when He specifically instructed you to get a stick? Another reason you might not be reaping is because you do what you want to do.

Say for instance, you want to start your own business. You pray and God leads you to first sow into a struggling small business owner. But instead of obeying and sowing first, you decide to take your trusty threshing sledge of a business idea and pay for your DBA and LLC. Months later, your business hasn’t improved and you’re either still seeking God about what to do or you’re so overloaded with internet information that now you’re confused.

Didn’t He tell you to sow - but what did you do? You took your cartwheel of an idea and started your own black cummin business and now your harvest is still in the field about to rot. He told you to sow first because He wanted you to have small business seed in the ground FOR your own business; so He led you to do something specific. But because it didn’t line up with what the internet said or with what your friend girl did, you ignored His instructions and did what you wanted to do.

The scripture is very specific. God gives specific instructions on getting your harvest. So much so, that when you re-read Isaiah 28:27, you’ll see that there are four different types of tools that can be used to get a harvest; a threshing sledge, cartwheel, a stick, and a rod – but only one of them will work. Only one will do what you need for it to do and only God knows which one it is. What you’ve got to do is lay your threshing sledge ideas to the side, do exactly what He instructs, and learn how to use that stick!

Pray this with me: Heavenly Father, please forgive me when I did what I wanted to do and not what You led me to. I ask You to show me which tools to use to reap Lord. Please remind me of the last instruction You gave and will You please give me the grace to do them fully and completely so that I can receive the next step. In Jesus’ name.
