What Does God Think About Devil Worshiping Homosexuals?
So on Monday, March 29th, my son asked me if I heard about Lil Nas X. I was like, “Yeah, I saw him on a post in the Shaderoom on a pole.” My son was like, “Naw, I’m talkin’ ‘bout them shoes.” I was like, “Shoes?” Because I’d seen him dawn some high heel stilettos in his practice pole video, I assumed he was speaking of ‘them’ shoes. Unbeknownst to me, he was speaking of some, “Satan Shoes”. While he continued to explain, I hurried on over to the place where I get all my up-to-the-minute Black news, @TheShaderoom. #dontjudgeme And lo and behold the caption read, “Nike Denies Involvement in Creation of Lil Nas X’s Satan Shoes”. Apparently not only are the shoes named after Satan, but it also contains human blood. But then it got worse. My son also said there’s a video in which he worships the devil and actually gives Satan a lap dance. After filling me in with the details, he politely then asked me what I thought about the whole situation. Surprisingly, the first thing out of my mouth was, “It’s our fault!”
“One can only assume that the reason Lil Nas X designed shoes and made a devil worshiping video is because some CHRISTIAN told him that God didn’t approve of his homosexual lifestyle.”
It’s Our Fault
What I mean by ‘our’, is that as a fire baptized, tongue-talking, Bible reading, follower of Jesus Christ, one can only assume that the reason he made such a video is because some CHRISTIAN told him that God didn’t approve of his homosexual lifestyle. Another CHRISTIAN probably told him he was going to go to hell, while yet another CHRISTIAN made it a point to reference Romans 1:18-32 and 1 Corinthians 6:9,10 to prove their point. If those Christian’s did any of the aforementioned, it was probably done in a condemning or supposedly loving way. Whichever way it was done, their concern CONTRIBUTED to the creation of the shoes and the making of the video. So when I say its our fault, I mean the faith-based community. We failed to tell him that God loves the LGBPTTQQIIAA+ community. What He doesn’t approve of is the unlawful way in which they have sex. But there’s a twist to that statement that you might find interesting.
The Making of the Lil Nas X Video
Undoubtedly, his video was based on Revelation 21:8 which says, ‘‘But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burn[s] with fire and brimstone…’ The word ‘whoremonger’ is pórnos which is where we get the word pornography. In Greek its defined as ‘a man who indulges in unlawful sex’. Based on that definition, it’s easy to assume that it’s referring to homosexual men. But the biblical definition of a man might surprise you.
Men and Mankind
The first time the word ‘man’ appears in the Bible is in Genesis 1:26, 27 where God says, ‘Let Us make man in Our own image, after Our likeness…so God created man in His own image, in the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.’ The Hebraic definition for man means, ‘species or mankind’. Therefore, whoremongers is referring to are both men and women who indulge in unlawful sex. Now the question becomes what is unlawful sex?
What is Sex?
Over time, the definition and act of sex has changed tremendously. Because the word sex doesn’t appear, many assume that it’s not discussed in the Bible. Again, that’s because the terminology is incorrect. Sex is often referred to as ‘knew, known, went into or came into’, to name a few. In Genesis, we find the first couple, Adam and Eve, having sex. Genesis 4:1 says, ‘…Adam knew Eve his wife.’ How do we know this is sex? Because the same verse goes on to read, ‘…and she conceived and bore Cain…’
Conception, back then, only occurred after sex. Therefore when Adam knew Eve, he knew her sexually. There are other instances that confirm the terminology ‘knew, know, or known’ which can be found in Genesis 4:17, 25, 38:26, Judges 11:39, 19:25, 1 Samuel 1:19, 1 Kings 1:4, and Matthew 1:25, to name a few. However, Genesis 4:1 clearly establishes the first act of sex and as such, we have a point of origin. Next, we need to delve into the lawfulness of sex and by lawfulness, I mean its original intent and/or purpose (i.e., its conditions, boundaries, and jurisdiction).
Let me preface this by saying that we are exploring both the BIBLICAL and ORIGINAL conditions, boundaries, and jurisdictions of sex. By doing so we are establishing God’s original intent and purpose for it. That said, we’ve already established that the first act occurred in Genesis 4 between Adam and Eve which means it happened between a man and a woman and further establishes the lawful conditions. But what was their relationship status? Genesis 2:24 lets us know that they were ‘…man and wife’ which means the FIRST TIME ANYONE EVER HAD SEX, it was had within the confines of marriage which establishes it as God’s lawful boundary or the original way He intended for us to have it.
Unlawful sex, therefore, would be any sex outside of marriage which includes;
Single men having sex with single women.
Single men having sex with single men.
Single women having sex with single women.
Married men having sex with single men.
Married men having sex with single women.
Married women having sex with single men.
Married women having sex with single women, and let’s not forget…
Single women and/or men having sex with themselves (i.e., masturbation).
This means ALL acts of sex outside of marriage - whether homosexual, heterosexual, premarital and/or extramarital - are unlawful. And as such, would classify those who participate in those acts as whoremongers which would them qualify them to have their part in the lake which burn[s] with fire and brimstone. So, my dear reader, if you’re SINGLE and engaging in ANY of the aforementioned, you probably wouldn’t want to judge or comment on Lil Nas X because according to the Word, you gone burn too! 😊 The only difference is your sexual preference. I can say that boldly because 18 years ago I fell into three categories. I was a heterosexual having both premarital and extramarital sex. Therefore, who am I to judge Lil Nas X, or anyone else’s sexual preference?
Satanic Shoes, Lap Dances and Occultic Salvation
But let’s now for a minute, AS CHRISTIANS, look at the bigger picture and discuss what happens now to Lil Nas X. Now that he worships Satan, can he be redeemed? Contrary to what most may believe, absolutely! How can I be so sure? Because when you read the Old Testament, you’ll find God’s stance on devil worship. All throughout scripture it’s often referred to as idolatry. Same spirit, just a milder version. There are also mentions of soothsaying, familiar spirits, mediums, spiritists, astrologers, magicians, witches, wizards, and sorcerers. But there are two New Testament examples in which occultic salvation occurred.
In Acts 19 we find, ‘…some itinerant…exorcists…[who] took it upon themselves to…’ try to cast out an evil spirit. But, ‘…the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on…[and]…overpowered them…so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.’ The same evil spirit knew the man of God, Paul, by name and because of his relationship with the Lord, fear fell on [those in Ephesus], and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. And…many of those who had practiced magic brought their books together and burned them in the sight of all…so the word of the Lord grew mightily and prevailed.’ As you can see, those who were practicing magic gave up their occultic practices and began to serve the Lord.
In Acts 8, we find another example of a sorcerer by the name of Simon who was baptized after receiving Jesus as his Lord. When you read the account, you’ll discover that he eventually went back to his old occultic ways, but the fact remains that a high-ranking sorcerer did get saved. So, could he, at a later time, come back to the Lord? In my opinion, yes and here’s why.
If someone you know were to call upon psychics, seek the counsel of a spiritual advisor, read their horoscope or use any illicit street drugs, would they lose their salvation?
Absolutely not because those are just milder versions which means if they can't lose their salvation then neither can Lil Nas X.”
Absolutely not, because all of the above are milder versions of the aforementioned. Meaning, a psychic and/or spiritual advisor are the same as a soothsayer, medium, spiritist and someone who yields to familiar spirits. A horoscope is written by an astrologer and a sorcerer is a druggist which means any dope boy and/or addiction would qualify as sorcery. So again, if someone you know participated in any of the aforementioned, would you tell them they’ve lost their salvation? Then neither has Lil Nas X!
I think where the confusion lies is the fact that he openly denounced God and publicly worshipped the devil which one might assume that he committed the unpardonable sin. But according to Matthew 12:31,32 that is not the case. Jesus said,
‘…I say to you, every sin and blasphemy will be forgiven men, but the blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven men. Anyone who speaks a word against the Son of Man, it will be forgiven him; but whoever speaks against the Holy Spirit, it will not be forgiven him, either in this age or in the age to come.
I could be wrong, but I don’t think that he blasphemed the Holy Spirit. Prayerfully he won’t but going forward, as Christians, our job isn’t to point our bony finger and say that because of his homosexual lifestyle, he’s going to hell. The fact of the matter is that God is probably not too happy with yours – especially is you’re saved, single and still having sex. For those of us who are spiritually mature, our job is to teach and be patient with people like Lil Nas X until they come around. 2 Timothy 2:25,26 tells us to be humble when we correct, ‘those who are in opposition…[with] God [so that He may] grant them repentance, so that they may know the truth…come to their senses and escape the snare of the devil, having been taken captive by him to do his will.’ (emphasis mine)
I don’t know about you, but as someone who was once a sexually promiscuous heterosexual who indulged in both premarital and extramarital sex as well as served the devil in my own milder way, I know that He is able to heal, set free and deliver. Therefore, to every devil worshiping, LGBPTTQQIIAA+ person who HASN’T blasphemed the Holy Spirit, you are eligible for redemption byway of repentance. God is just that good that He will lead you to repent, and if you’ll allow me the honor, I’d like to lead you to Him.
Pray this with me: Heavenly Father, please forgive me for every time I worshiped and served Satan. Whether I did it wholeheartedly or in a milder version, I repent and ask that You please forgive me. Lord, I submit every occultic practice and my sexuality to You. I ask that You cleanse me and fill me with Your precious Holy Spirit. Please teach me how to study and stay in Your Word and how to serve You and Your Son, my Lord and Savior. I pray this in Jesus’ name. Amen.
Please be clear: I DO NOT condone Satanic worship; to worship the devil and Satan is both life-altering and dangerous. Me saying that Lil Nas X can be redeemed is not saying that there won’t be devastating consequences to his actions that he will have to walk through. But what I am saying is that when he does repent, God will walk him, and anyone else for that matter, out of that darkness and into His marvelous light.
‘He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.’ - Colossians 1:13, 14
