Seed Inventory

Be diligent to know the state of your flocks, And attend to your herds;' Proverbs 27:23

In our last issues, we discovered that you need to identify your seed so that you can recognize your harvests. Another reason you may not have reaped is because you're not keeping up with what you've sown; you don't know the state of your flocks. You throw money in the plate for the offering; but you don't keep a record of your giving. Having said that, one way to start is by taking an inventory of your seed. You do this by making a list and be sure you don’t include the tithe; that belongs to God and is not considered seed. Create a spreadsheet or write it down, but keep it simple. Take a look at the following example;

So say for instance, you gave $150 to your church's building fund FOR new pews. Pews would be considered furniture; therefore, you can expect a furniture HARVEST. Be sure to do the same for every seed. Once you have them all listed, it’s time to start thanking God every time you think about your harvest! ‘Lord I thank You for my new furniture! Heavenly Father, I thank You for my new bedroom suite!' So now while your seed is growing and God is orchestrating getting it to you; you’re directing your attention to thanking Him for your harvest because now you're able to recognize it because you have it written down.

I know this may seem a little extreme, but when you think about it, don't you keep good accounting records with your taxes, investments, and other money related activities? It's time to take sowing and reaping seriously and be diligent to know the state of your seeds. Get organized and start identifying your seeds so that you can start doing the work necessary to reap the harvest!
